Introduction: The recommended village for this visit is Gu Jiang. The village name means "ancient general". It lies 85 kilometers / 51 miles northwest of Beijing. One reason that we recommend this place is that there's a part of the great wall (Juyongguan) locate close to it. You can not only experience the village tour, but also hike on the wall. The other reason is that one of our guides "Michael", comes from this village Beijing shopping. He will accompany you taking a tour to his village and visit his family as well. Approximately 1,200 people live in his village.
Tour schedule:
Our well-trained English-speaking tour guide & private car/van will pick you up at 9:00 am. Drive to the Juyongguan Great Wall Beijing tour. Hike for one and a half hours. After lunch, pay a visit to the village near Juyongguan. Lunch will be arranged at a local family-Michael's home. You will be warmly welcomed there. Transfer back to Beijing downtown afterwards.
